Relocation
UNICEF states that International Professional staff may have travel and shipping expenses covered when moving between duty stations. An assignment grant may also help with initial costs at a new duty station. Source
Visa sponsorship
UN visa facilities apply to officials traveling on United Nations business with a laissez-passer, and duty-station residence steps are handled through the relevant host country. UNICEF onboarding confirms the documents needed for each appointment. Source
Home leave / paid home travel
UNICEF says International Professional staff may be eligible for home leave travel to renew ties in the home country. Duty station and contract type set the frequency. Source
Diplomatic license plate
UNICEF vehicle privileges are handled through local diplomatic protocol and usually reflect seniority or accreditation. They are not a standard entitlement for every staff contract. Source · estimate
Diplomatic document
Eligible UNICEF staff can use United Nations travel documents for official travel under the UN privileges framework. The host country handles local residence or identity documents. Source
Income tax exemption
UNICEF states that salaries, grants, and allowances paid by the United Nations are normally exempt from income tax. Some national or resident-status exceptions can still apply. Source
Functional immunity
UNICEF officials have UN functional immunity for official acts. This protects work performed for UNICEF and can be waived by the Organization. Source
Airport special lane
UN official travel documents can support expedited visa handling and travel facilities. Airport lane access is local protocol, not a promise to every UNICEF staff member. Source · estimate
