The Global Fund Benefits

Global Fund salaries are exempt from Swiss tax. Eligible employees receive health coverage and contribute to the provident fund. Relocation support and family-related allowances depend on the contract.

Staff benefits

Relocation

Eligible employees who move at least 75 km to take up a post can receive travel and removal support. An installation grant may also apply. Benefits vary by contract length. Source

Visa sponsorship

The Global Fund obtains a Swiss carte de legitimation for each employee. This authorization allows the employee to live and work in Switzerland during the employment contract. Source

Education grant

Eligible employees can receive an education grant for recognized dependent children in mandatory full-time education. The grant covers part of additional schooling costs and is capped per family. Source

Pension

Employees with contracts of at least three months must join the Global Fund Provident Fund. Employees contribute 7.9 percent of pensionable pay, and the Global Fund contributes 15.8 percent. Source

Health insurance

Employees must join the staff health insurance plan. The package can cover a recognized spouse or domestic partner and dependent children. Source

other

Full-time employees receive 30 working days of annual leave each year. Employees resident in Switzerland can generally combine office work with working from home under the published policy. Source

Income tax exemption

Global Fund salaries are exempt from Swiss tax under the Headquarters Agreement. Some employees can still owe tax or social security elsewhere, and eligibility for tax equalization varies. Source
